At The Food Shack, our mission has always been clear: To enrich lives in our community & raise the tide for the next generation by providing a path to better food. From the day we opened our doors in 2010, we’ve been inspired by the vibrant flavors and laid-back vibes of the Pacific and Caribbean islands, Central America, and the West Coast. Our journey has been one of passion, dedication, and a deep commitment to our community, and we’re excited to share it with you.

A Journey Rooted in Flavor and Community

When we first started as Flat Waves, our goal was simple: to capture the essence of our favorite beach and surf destinations through fresh, delicious food. We wanted to create a place where people could come together, enjoy great meals with a relaxed dining experience, and feel the warmth of true hospitality. Fast forward to 2016, when we rebranded to Flat Waves Food Shack, we expanded our menu to include dishes inspired by even more of our favorite coastal regions around the globe. This was more than just a name change; it was a step towards refining our vision and bringing even more of the world’s most beloved street food favorites to our customers.

By the spring of 2022, we embraced another exciting chapter, reintroducing ourselves as The Food Shack. With a new location, another updated menu with fresh and delicious street food favorites, and a renewed focus, we are thrilled to continue offering a relaxed dining experience that stays true to our roots while embracing the fresh, innovative spirit that has always defined us.

The Power of Quality Ingredients

One of the key pillars of our philosophy at The Food Shack is our commitment to using the best ingredients possible. We believe that great food starts with great ingredients, and we are fortunate to have access to some of the finest local produce and products. We are committed to changing the way people eat, and we believe that you shouldn’t have to sacrifice real, quality food that is good for your body for the sake of convience of dining out or grabbing a quick bite. We are raising the bar in what we demand from our food and you should too! We are removing processed seed oils whenever possible, cut the enriched and fortified grains and pastas, and don’t cook with any ingredients containing high fructose corn syrup! Also, by parting with local farmers as well as national regenerative farms, growers, and suppliers of like-minded mission, we not only ensure that our dishes are fresh and flavorful, but we also support our local & domestic economy and reduce our environmental footprint. Taking the time to source ingredients this way is all part of our dedication to creating a dining experience that goes “beyond one meal.”

Our menu reflects this commitment to freshness and quality. From our grilled fish tacos with avocado aioli and sesame slaw to our vibrant veggie bowls, every dish is crafted with care and attention to detail. We take pride in offering a diverse selection of street food favorites here at The Food Shack that celebrate the best of global flavors, all while staying rooted in our local community.
